divine in 09

As I was on my way to meet my bride and groom for an e.session today I walked past this- I can relate. I've noticed how much the impact of the economy has affected so many around me. Even though times are tough I still want to have a smile on my face and feel blessed for each day I have to live and spend my time pursuing my dream. Praying for the permanent instead of the pressing today.

transitions

Lately I've been running on close to "E", not just in my gas tank but in the busyness of life. I've had to step back and assess if this is how I want to spend my days. Blessings have come and I want to be honestly grateful for them but in reality I'm piling them up on a shelf waiting for the day I have "time" to focus on it and be 100% grateful.
The day has come to simplify my schedule and put some boundaries in place. The workload has been too much to keep up with and my days, nights and weekends are filled with work. That's not how I want to spend my days especially while I am "young" The conclusion is I will no longer be a FT nanny as of April... I will take the time to focus on my business and take advantage of the opportunities and partnerships that are falling in my lap.. and teach kids as a secondary career choice. This decision was thought out and I spent a lot of time in prayer and I have been assured this is the right choice for now. I'll leave you with a cliche forward I'm sure pretty much everyone has had in their inbox at one time or another. A few lines stand out to me especially the part in the end "When you run so fast to get somewhere, you miss half the fun of getting there."

SLOW DANCE unknown

Have you ever watched kids

On a merry-go-round?

Or listened to the rain

Slapping on the ground?

Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?

Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You better slow down.

Don't dance so fast.

Time is short.

The music won't last.

Do you run through each day

On the fly?

When you ask, "How are you?"

Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done

Do you lie in your bed

With the next hundred chores

Running through your head?

You'd better slow down

Don't dance so fast.

Time is short.

The music won't last.

Ever told your child,

We'll do it tomorrow?

And in your haste,

Not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch,

Let a good friendship die

Cause you never had time

To call and say "Hi"?

You'd better slow down.

Don't dance so fast.

Time is short.

The music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere

You miss half the fun of getting there.

When you worry and hurry through your day,

It is like an unopened gift.... Thrown away.

Life is not a race.

Do take it slower

Hear the music

Before the song is over.

Camellia

So you know my first couple experiences were great with Camellia Cosmetics... this past visit I was the photog for a before/after photo shoot.
We had ten amazing models and had one wonderful evening.

I'm not going to post many photos- if you'd like the password to the album let me know. I'll share a couple of my favs and a b&a of a wonderful woman many of you recognize.

Wow!

So I had one of the better weeks/weekends in a long time! It was exciting and exhausting for sure! I rented some sweet equipment to test out and have planned as many shoots as possible in between my normal work schedule. check out my biz blog for some previews

I'll have a change in my schedule coming up in the next couple months (more on that later)

The weather was great, the people were great, it was just one of those weekends I really felt in my element. Yes, it was all about photos so I won't bore you with the details but it just feels like things are coming together nicely.
Hope you enjoyed the beautiful weather and that your weekend was great

New workspace

I've been looking for a nice desk for awhile now... I finally found one! Its from the Delano collection at none other than Target. I like the antiqued red detail and best of all its wood so it should last for years to come.

Instead of purchasing the matching bookshelf which was $50 more than the desk alone I decided to be "frugal" and purchase a $30 bookshelf and I don't think it looks bad with the desk. I'm transitioning into darker furniture that would look good in a future office?  ;) I have a few more things to do before its complete but its getting there!
What do you do to make sure your workspace is efficient?
