Rain-check

I think I'll go to Boston...

My beautiful cousin Jayme has been accepted to The Boston Conservatory! She and her husband Scott will be moving from Chicago this weekend and begin to settle in on the E-coast! Rumor has it they will be making a pit-stop in Granger on their way through- yes they have to pick up our washer and dryer- so its an excuse to see them before they leave ;)

I couldn't be more excited for her and the fact that she gets to do something she is so passionate about & very good at!!

So as Augustana says it... "I think I'll go to Boston" Yes, there will be a visit to Boston in my future.
But for now, I pray that Scott & Jayme are able to finish packing everything and have a safe trip!

Safety

I'm thankful for my friend Tara's safety... I just found out she was in an accident last week (not her fault) that ended up totaling her car. She only suffered minor injuries but I can only imagine how much worse it could have been. Thank you Jesus for keeping her safe.
Tara I hope you find a car soon! I'll keep my eye out for something and let you know. Love ya dear

Just as I was...

I heard the thunder and saw the raindrops seconds later
We need the rain so I'm not complaining :)

Playing catch up

Leah came over for a bit today to show me honeymoon pictures and tell me about their trip!
The Dominican looked beautiful! The ocean was gorgeous with the sandy beach and all. Makes me want to take a vacay tomorrow! :)
It was so good to see her & I'm happy that they had a great time. Plus she got me a bracelet that is made from coconuts! Its very cute... I can't wait to see some of the art they bought for their house.
They got back around 5:30 this morning... due to a major flight delay in Atlanta.
She made my day by coming over!

First weekend of the summer

...was spent hosting a post moving garage sale!

My grandparents have stored much of our things that we have no need for anymore (lawn mower, patio furniture, gas grill, washer/dryer, bunk beds etc) waiting to have a garage sale to hopefully get rid of them. We did it all day Saturday and were able to get rid of a lot! Yesterday we had to box up the rest of the things and get it ready for salvation army/goodwill but most of my clothes, shoes etc I'm giving to my friend Ruby who is teaching in Mexico and doing a garage sale/fund raiser in July so hopefully she will be able to sell the rest of the clothes there!

Beth and I have pretty much known each other since we were very young. I remember playing school in her basement cause she had these cool desks and we would hang out in her room. Oh those were the days of no responsibility and all play!

Now that we've both grown up a bit- Beth is now married and expecting her 1st child in October. Beth- I hope you have a GREAT day!

Wacky Wednesday

After a lot of errands that needed to be done, Cam came over (again) and we went to see Surfs Up (cute movie) and he brought his bathing suit for "just in case we have time to swim after the movie"
So I fit a bit of swimming into the schedule for the evening and he loved it.
Although there was a little girl that was a bit, well you know, testing. Her parents were at the pool but paid no attention when she stuck her head into the flapper where all the bugs and leaves and other not-so-good things go. Cam advised her that if she kept doing that her head was going to get stuck in there!
I took Cam home later and then went to my gparents house to price things for our huge garage sale this weekend.
I pray we get rid of everything because the stuff can't come to the apt!
We were busy pricing stuff till after 11 and we'll be back at it again tonight.

Aunt Brandee & Kyle were able to come over Monday afternoon to swim. We got to the pool and they had everyone get out because they had to clean it- Kyle was bummed out. So we did a Wally World run and then came back and as Kyle would say "Look Ma the man is gone!" (referring to the maintenance guy that was cleaning the pool as we left)

Fun times were had... even though it was close to raining when we got there- it cleared up a bit.

Sunday (17th)

Ok so I've got some catching up to do from this past weekend forward...
Its been a busy week- but good for the most part.
and so the pictures begin ;)

Lets start with Sunday:
After church, I went to the lake for Fathers Day and we were able to chill and go on a boat ride- 1st of the season for me :D
It was a beautiful warm summer day... and I figured if I conquered wearing a black dress the day before at Michael & Leah's wedding that was 95 degrees it would be fine at the lake considering you have "just a lil" h2o around for cooling off. Oh yeah, my Grandparents also have a real drinking fountain with some coooold water. Next time I'm taking my 32oz just so I don't have to stand around the fountain.

Even though it was 95 degrees- the day was beautiful and I couldn't be happier for Leah & Michael. I was also able to decorate their hotel room with rose petals, 2 roses on the bed & a bottle of wine and candles on the jacuzzi! The newly weds are now in the Dominican so I haven't heard from them but I hope they are having an amazing time! It was an honor to be a part of their special day. Love you guys!
